Mostly we see photos of Grand Prix weekends with masses of people on the grandstands behind fences and masses of VIPs in the paddock and pits. There is no chance for the amateur photographer and F1 fan to get really close to action. But if you strip all of this away, what do you end up with? Of course, a test day! Where, in 1998, amateur photographers could get close to the action and capture the not so stressed and frivolous atmosphere. We had a dig in our negatives and came up with some photos showing exactly that at the Silverstone track in the UK. In this post we focus on the Stewart-Ford team and see their driver Rubens Barrichello faffing about and posing for the fans. Enjoy!
